Cold Dawn Expected in Oaxaca, With Highs of 34 Degrees on the Coast and Isthmus

The Coordinación Estatal de Protección Civil y Gestión de Riesgos forecasts stable conditions across most of Oaxaca on October 28, 2026. Skies are expected to be clear to partly cloudy, with cool to cold weather at dawn and possible isolated drizzle in some areas of the Sierra Sur.
According to the Conagua forecast, the Istmo de Tehuantepec and the Costa will reach highs of up to 34 degrees. The morning cold will be most intense in the high areas of the Mixteca, the Sierra de Juárez and the Sierra Sur.
Fog banks could form in mountain areas during the morning and at night. The forecast links these conditions to a low-pressure trough over the interior of the country and the arrival of moisture from the Pacific Ocean.
